We are told that Bilbo opens the door so quickly that the four dwarves fall in on top of one another. Gandalf took out a pouch from his cloak and gave it to Thorin. He wanted to make his peace with Bilbo before he died. Thorin, the leader, explains to the group what they are going to do. Gandalf turned to Thorin and sighed. She was whispering and gesturing him near, but Bilbo felt his bones ache as he attempted to sit up. Thorin thanks Bilbo for saving his life and tells him he was wrong about saying the Hobbit didn't have a place amongst them. Thorin shoots the arrow but misses. Some days later Gandalf arrives with 13 dwarves for tea. While the Dwarves prepare, Bilbo is chased by the Dragon into the hall where he tells Bilbo or "Barrel Rider" that he plans to attack Lake Town. The repetitive sound of stone against blade would almost be relaxing if it didnât remind Bilbo quite so much of the journey to Erebor, of times spent looking out into the darkening evening sky while a different dwarf sharpened weapons beside him. This is the first impression we have of him. Thorin says he is sorry to Bilbo for how he acted and for what he's put him through. This allows the dwarves to track Bilbo to his hobbit hole. Thanks to Bilbo, Thorin and his company manage to find it. Bilbo, who did not plan to go on this adventure becomes frightened. Bilbo doesn't until the old man tells him that his name is Gandalf. Thorin was dying, he had been mortally wounded in the Battle of Five Armies. He was one of thethirteen Dwarves who accompanied Thorin II Oakenshield on the quest to regain the Lonely Mountain. Bilbo then learns he is recurited by Grandalf to be the burglar of the team. Thorin tells Bilbo to steal some meat from them; however, the trolls catch them and try to eat them, until Gandalf returns and the sun rises, turning the three trolls to stone.
