Denham Country Park is a 69-acre public park and Local Nature Reserve in Buckinghamshire and the London Borough of Hillingdon. This pleasant waterside walk from Watford takes you through Cassiobury Park and along the Grand Union Canal to Uxbridge.You'll also use a section of the waymarked Colne Valley Trail where you can enjoy fine views of the River Colne. Denham Country Park is a great site for water birds; will you spot a Heron or a Kingfisher? Walking and cycling Denham WCountry Park links in with the network of paths in the Colne Valley Regional Park, including links to Frays Valley Local Nature Reserve, Denham Village and Uxbridge. It was also extremely wet when we were there giving us an unexpected adventure of avoiding the puddle/lakes that had taken over much of the path. Although I’d been a regular visitor to the Country Park, I’d mainly used it as a base to explore the Grand Union. This trip was both part of our River Misbourne Circulars and our walks based around the rail and underground stations of the Chilterns. This Buckinghamshire walk despite its urban location does offer some scenic content including the River Colne, the Grand Union Canal and Denham Country Park. It's called 'deep lock because with an 11 feet drop, Denham has the deepest lock on the Grand Union Canal.
